Class Times and Structure
Fairview Studios provide a relaxed, fun, collaborative atmosphere, where learning is enjoyable and social.
Evening classes begin at 6:30 and end at 9:30 p.m. The Wednesday daytime class is from 1:00 – 4:00. You are welcome to come to the studio early for evening classes, and after 4 on Wednesdays
Each class includes a 30-minute demonstration, which will always include the four basic steps of pottery-throwing: centering, opening, raising and shaping. Demo takes place 30 minutes after class start. Following the demo, the instructor will address student questions and provide help.
The pace at which students learn is personal; generally, the more you practice, the more you’ll learn. Help and advice is always available.
If you miss a class, you may attend any other class during that week to make up. You do not need to call to request make-up lessons; the answer is always “yes.”
If you cannot make up the class in the week, you may attend two classes in any week of your paid-up block. If you are a continuing student, you can make up classes any time during your paid-up block.
Fairview Studios offers open studio time to paid-up students at no additional charge. Instruction is not available on a one-to-one basis during studio time; you are welcome to use this time for practice
